What will YOU be doing for us?
The Systems Engineer role is responsible for administering and supporting large and complex virtualization environments including physical hosts, virtual networking, virtual appliances, and virtual machines; SAN storage systems, backup systems and solutions that provide business continuity and disaster recovery, etc. to support SKYGEN security requirements, business requirements and goals.
This role provides onsite and remote support to internal and external customers while working independently and as part of a team to resolve service desk tickets, analyze and resolve technical issues, and implement new systems and solutions, perform recurring job tasks, etc. as directed.
What will YOU be working on everyday?
Assist with administering and supporting large and complex virtualization environment implemented in multiple data centers, including utilization planning, ongoing monitoring and upgrades.
Assist with administering and supporting multiple SAN environments, including storage utilization planning, ongoing monitoring and upgrades.
Administer, test, improve and document disaster recovery processes.
Administer, support and upgrade server systems including physical server hardware and virtual Windows OS installation and administration.
Create, manage, and destroy virtual machines in a VMware environment.
Implement SSL certificates as appropriate to ensure encrypted communications between business systems.
Administer and support enterprise backup solutions.
Perform periodic audits of virtualization, storage, security, and BC/DR solutions configurations to ensure they comply with documented standards.
Review related logs to ensure systems are performing as expected and troubleshoot any issues.
Work closely with IT and Development teams across the organization on new projects and to support existing technology solutions.
What YOU need to be a Good Candidate:
Required Level of Education, Licenses, and/or Certificates
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of related experience.
Required Experience
2+ years of experience administering, implementing and supporting Windows Server
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize numerous incoming requests
Ability to ask appropriate questions to facilitate resolutions
Ability to use logical thought process in resolving problems.
Ability to work well with internal team members in resolving complex issues.
