OC Museum Preparator Assistant (multiple positions available)Position Type: Occasional (on call)Department: MuseumSummary Description:Assist with all exhibition installation and de-installations in the museumgalleries including the permanent collection galleries, special exhibitiongalleries, Tactile Gallery, and art in public areas.Anticipated Salary Range: See Pay Information belowResponsibilities: Prepare, handle, move and install artwork in galleries and collectionsstorage; construct storage and exhibition furniture and transport art asneeded Assists with Museum Collections projects including object inventory,rehousing, and data entry as needed. Install, repair and store, casework, pedestals, mounts,lighting, wall colors, labels, text panels, graphics, signage,didactic components, and AV equipment. Work diplomatically with visiting artists, students, and co-workers toaccomplish educational and gallery exhibition goals. Maintain conservation standards in all aspects of art handling and display. Actively support the college's plan to be an antiracist institution byunderstanding, engaging with, and promoting diversity, inclusion, andequity in the college community. Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in asafe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations and accidents;following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safetytraining. Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wiselyand supporting the college's sustainability initiatives and innovation.
