About The Opportunity


We are looking for a driven and passionate individual to grow our Speech Therapy Program at CSD. As we continue to take on new cases, our Speech Language Pathologist will act as a high level clinician to provide support and supervise a caseload of both speech therapy and ABA therapy clients. We will provide comprehensive training in ABA therapy and other parent education programs for families with autism spectrum disorders and/or similar developmental disabilities. The Speech Language Pathologist will grow their speech therapy caseload and program within the region.


As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at CSD you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role will also provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals. In conjunction with treating within the speech language discipline, at CSD this role will also practice evidence-based services and programs for people with autism spectrum disorders and/or similar developmental disabilities in response to physician recommendations in home, school, clinic and/or other natural settings.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Evaluating levels of swallowing, speech, and language difficulty
  • Identifying treatment options
  • Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs
  • Teaching patients how to make sounds while improving their voices and maintaining fluency
  • Helping individuals improve sentence structure and vocabulary used in written and oral language
  • Working with children in developing and strengthening muscles used to swallow
  • Counseling individuals and families on ways to cope with swallowing and communication disorders
  • Primarily working with children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and/or similar developmental disabilities
  • Supervise a caseload of both ABA and speech therapy clients
  • Additional job duties as assigned

About You


Requirements & Qualifications


  • Master s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. California Speech-Language Pathologist license. Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledgeable of up-to-date evidence-based treatment practices and programs.
  • Knowledgeable of other community resources and agencies that serve children.
  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • Able to travel to and work in multiple program service areas; reliable transportation needed (proof of valid driver license, current auto insurance identification card, and acceptable driving record per NIAC standards is required).
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; American Sign Language or bilingual ability preferred.
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.
