The DevOps Engineer (Senior Manager) is responsible for operations of multiple complex stage and production data lake environments. While they do not do development work on the platforms, they perform code release deployments and technology upgrades to these environments and will be required to troubleshoot and monitor issues that require knowledge of development languages, COTS applications, and infrastructure (cloud and on prem).

+ Utilizing tools like Azure DevOps/VSTS, validating requirements, deploying, and troubleshooting deployments of code and technologies in stage and production environments;


+ Demonstrating communication skills and the ability to drive continuous performance improvements with the stakeholders, vendors and technology subject matter specialists;


+ Establishing a stable, reliable secure and high performing data platform;


+ Building, maintaining and controlling stage and production environments;


+ Troubleshooting incidents in stage and production environments;


+ Being proactive in monitoring and ensuring alerting capabilities exist for all components of the platform;


+ Establishing system health and capacity is reviewed and enhanced as needed;


+ Documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and performing knowledge transfer to others;


+ Demonstrating fluency in at least one development language such as Java, Perl, PHP or Python);


+ Leading and driving to completion, management initiatives across a DevOps team;


+ Managing Azure / AWS / GCP or distributed VMware environments;


+ Demonstrating knowledge of at least one container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes and one database technology such as MySQL, MS-SQL, or Postgresql;


+ Working with code management tooling such as Github or Gitlab;


+ Possessing knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tooling and deployments;


+ Demonstrating Linux and Windows administration experience;


+ Understanding of SRE concepts and practices and experience implementing them in enterprise environments to stable, reliable, secure and high performing data platform;


+ Leveraging business and domain acumen to interpret and translate architecture plans to business plans;


+ Supervising and establishing delivery of project initiatives;


+ Collaborating with other Architects and Developers to provide technical design guidance to align with strategy and applicable technical standards;


+ Working independently to evaluate and make strategic decisions that will address specific technology design needs;


+ Researching and evaluating emerging technologies and novel approaches in order to make recommendations to enhance business processes and/or create a competitive advantage;


+ Providing design guidance that follows the enterprise architecture vision and adheres to applicable application technology guidelines;


+ Displaying initiative and an ability to lead others;


+ Providing coaching and technical mentoring;


+ Learning rapidly and continuously taking advantage of new technologies, concepts and business models; and,


+ Demonstrating a history of staying current in emerging technology trends.
