Job Description The Senior Technical Business Analyst – Application Requirements works directly with end users, department leaders, and other stakeholders to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, and verify their business needs and translate them into application requirements and process documentation to help the organization achieve its goals. The successful candidate will be a liaison between business stakeholders and technology solutions leadership to build support and alignment for solution selections and ensure that technology requirements are addressed during the process. This position will identify new business systems and processes and conduct research and analysis in order to come up with technical solutions to business problems. Responsibilities: Schedule, plan, and lead requirement gathering and review meetings with multiple stakeholders to understand their business objectives and needs. Communicate key decisions and action items. Elicit requirements using facilitation techniques, including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis. Develop business scenarios/use cases to explain and demonstrate technical business requirement specifications to business stakeholders and the technology team. Define and document system requirements utilizing workflows, process mapping, and other methods. Work with Application or Process Owners to convert technical business requirements into vendor or developer-friendly specifications to drive estimates and/or solutions. Provide input to buy vs. build decisions based on input received from the business and functions within technology. Conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business. Coordinate RFP creation and demonstration activities for potential new systems. Design and document the current and future-state business processes along with IT systems and interfaces. Other related responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills: Hands-on experience gathering and writing business and technical requirements for business applications. Experience with devising and running workshops to uncover objectives, identify functional requirements, map process flows, etc. Experience creating RFP requirements and leading vendor selection projects. Demonstrated ability to organize information and manage tasks and projects to support business needs. Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze complex business processes Ability to quickly learn new systems and understand where/how that system fits in the bigger picture of the organization. Ability to proactively identify risks, and drive action to mitigate and resolve issues. Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with dynamically changing priorities. Adept at articulating technical implications to business users/stakeholders. Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and juggle competing demands. Track record of managing multiple projects concurrently. Strong team player, able to foster teamwork, collaboration and a positive working environment. Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. 7 years related work experience. Prior experience working with vendors to select software solutions at an enterprise level. Broad knowledge of computer systems and web-based services. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project). Experience with Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies. CBAP or equivalent certification preferred, or other relevant certification/experience Experience in the energy or construction industry a plus.
