Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Designer ll or Design Engineer for a Direct Placement in position Las Vegas, NV.
Position Summary: We are currently looking to grow our Fire Protection team with multiple team members. We currently have an opportunity for a Designer (NICET track) or a Design Engineer I (PE track). While the final career goals of each position may be different, initial responsibilities will be similar.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Position Summary: We are currently looking to grow our Fire Protection team with multiple team members. We currently have an opportunity for a Designer (NICET track) or a Design Engineer I (PE track). While the final career goals of each position may be different, initial responsibilities will be similar.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Perform deliverables, such as hydraulic calculations, drawings, and specifications related to water-based fire suppression systems
- Perform basic equipment selection and pipe sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of the project design with project management, architects, and other trades through the completion phase of a project
- Perform and audit basic CADD drafting work in AutoSprink and REVIT
- Assist senior designers and engineers in fire suppression and detection system design tasks
- Assist in creation of calculations, drawings and specifications related to fire suppression and detection systems
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of the project design with project management, architects and other trades through the completion phase of a project
- Perform and review CAD and REVIT drafting work, calculations, fabrication reports, cut-sheets and field prints
- Learn and apply applicable codes, specifications and criteria required to support the design of multiple projects
- Examine field conditions, conceptual and construction documents to develop a constructible system
Designer II Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Knowledge of software programs related to Fire Protection - AutoSprink, Revit or other relevant programs
- If you have experience as a Fire Protection journeyman or apprentice, this is a great path into design work
- NICET II minimum preferred, with 3-5 years of experience in fire protection design work
Design Engineer I Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in Engineering or related field
- 0-4 years' experience
- EIT and/or NICET certification preferred
- Basic Knowledge of applicable system design, such as automatic sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, etc.
- Basic ability to read fire protection, architectural, civil, mechanical and plumbing plans
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
