Position Summary

The Program Manager III will oversee activities for delivering space and satellite products to government and commercial customers. The selected candidate will manage programs from contract kickoff to contract completion. The successful candidate will interact with multiple organizations including engineering, operations, and executive teams. This is a hands-on position in a very dynamic and fast-growing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing one or more external customer programs
  • Developing program objectives by reviewing contract documents and conferring with cross-functional management
  • Developing master plans and schedules
  • Leading and directing cross functional teams in execution of programs
  • Performing liaison function between Engineering and manufacturing operations for transition to production
  • Performing risk management by identifying, assessing, and mitigating impacts to programs
  • Meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Work with quality personnel to ensure that all product deliverables are in compliance with contracts
  • Managing subcontractor actions and performance

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree, Bachelor of Science preferred
  • 9 or more years of cross-functional program management experience
  • 7 or more years managing external customers for DoD, Aerospace, or related government programs
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing products from conception to production
  • Ability to utilize excellent decision making and risk management skills to meet profit and schedule goals
  • Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) experience and/or training
  • Experience/familiarity with electronic systems preferred
  • Candidates will be submitted for background investigation for the purpose of being granted a U.S. security clearance*.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers, far visual acuity, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
