The Lab School is an educational, research, and service facility for university students, faculty, and the community at large. It provides a setting for university students to observe, participate, and study children under the supervision of trained Master Teachers. The Lab School is one of the longest continuously running lab schools in the country (96 years!), serving over 100 families throughout the Austin metro area annually. Purpose To provide administrative support for the Priscilla Pond Flawn Child and Family Laboratory. This position is forward facing in a busy lobby. The ideal applicant would be able to successfully work in an environment with frequent interruptions. This position has the possibility of being hybrid on Fridays and during times when students are not in session. Responsibilities Assist the director, faculty and staff, parents, researchers, visitors, University of Texas at Austin students, and community observers as needed. Answer phones and distribute mail. Help maintain website and help with billing and tuition collection/deposits. Help maintain Jovial database and records pertaining to enrollment and waiting list. Maintain all Child Care Licensing (CCL) licensing and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation standards. Maintain all child and adult records, including submitting required background checks. Make reports to the state as needed (e.g., vision and hearing). Keep records of attendance, and absences as required by licensing and accreditation. Update written materials, records, files, sign-up sheets, rosters, forms, packets, and directories routinely. Complete an annual self-evaluation and meet with your supervisor to discuss strengths and challenges. Identify areas for growth and seek continuing education in those areas. Other administrative duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School degree or GED. Proficient in MS Word and Excel. Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and writing skills. High level of professionalism. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple concurrent projects. A customer focus that includes internal and external partners. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree. At least three years of clerical experience. Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Office Suites. Experience managing databases. Salary Range $35,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Lift and move standard office files and supplies.
