Medical Coder- Remote

This role is fully remote..Medical Coding Tasks:* + Review reports/records containing medical adverse events and applies MedDRA (or other) codes to classify the event. + Performs clinical data coding for information contained in the adverse event description, lab test, and medical conditions within the coding tool using MedDRA terms + Ensures that the selected codes accurately reflect the term as provided by the reporter at the Low Level Term (LLT). + Contribute to the development of training manuals, coding guides and SOPs + Train other team members in MedDRA coding practices and assist other team members resolve complex issues, provide feedback to help improve quality of coding data + Participates in quality control processes and auditing procedures + Collaborate with other units to provide support for daily operations.Required skills:* + 5 years' experience coding or mapping with MedDRA + Experience using the MedDRA browser + Experience coding adverse event reports using MedDRA + Technical skills using MS Word & Excel + Excellent communication and organizational skills + Experience training others to use MedDRA + Experience performing QA/QC on other coders work Education: + HS Diploma required + Associate degree in medical coding or Bachelor's in a healthcare related field a plus + MedDRA Coder Certification a plus + Ability to work independently and as part of a team to adhere to deadlines + Attention to detail COVID-19 Vaccination: GDIT does not have a vaccination mandate applicable to all employees.
