The Staff Accountant has a very active and critical role in the accounting month closing process, with responsibility to calculate, analyze and record journal entries and transactions, as well as support the accounting reconciliation process. The role reports to the Controller and will also assist in various Finance duties through the month and will play an active role in understanding and helping improve processes and report performance from projects.



DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



• Preparation and posting of monthly journal entries including accruals, adjustments, allocations, prepaids, according to monthly close schedule



• Working across multiple branches/locations



• Assist with post close reporting and analysis



• Perform account reconciliations



• Assist with the preparation of month end reporting



• Provide backup support for finance and accounting functions as required



• Support special projects as necessary



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:



• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar



• 2 - 4 years of relevant accounting experience



• Work requires initiative and the ability to analyze complex accounting documents to improve processes and reporting.



• Should be familiar with accounting systems



• Exposure to ERP financial systems preferred



• Must possess strong computer skills overall, including the ability to navigate between different systems. Requires experience and competency working with Excel.



• Work requires the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple task environments.



• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team while enhancing personal and departmental performance
