Solids Control Technician

What is a solids control technician?

This person works on location and is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the level of solids within the drilling fluid (mud) at all times so that it can be reused efficiently and will not damage the rig equipment. This position includes operating and maintaining the solids control equipment and coordinating with the drilling consultant.

Duties

• Maintain and operate solids control equipment (centrifuge, drying shakers, etc.)

• Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues as well as any other issues that arise.

• Follow safety policies, processes, and act in a safe manner at all times.

• Assist with the rig up and rig down of solids control equipment

• Service equipment on a normal basis. (Change shaker screens as needed, servicing centrifuge.)

• Complete all required paper work daily (safety documents, JSA s, work orders, service records, and daily reports)

• Keep back yard and equipment clean. (Cleaning shaker screens, open tops/rollers frequently and proper washout on centrifuge before shutting down.)

• Travel to rig site locations including yards; availability to work on a schedule basis.

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of solids control experience

• Valid Driver s License

• Must have a vehicle

• Must be able to pass a drug test
